Nowadays there are many alternatives to sugar in the market , especially for Diabetic and obese people ! High Fructose Corn Syrup is an alternative to sucrose - commonly known as the table Sugar we use normally .In the US HFCS is most often used in beverages as a sugar replacement, and is also sometimes used in baked goods and confectionery. In terms of calories , there is no difference between HFCS and sugar, both containing 4 calories per gram. But there has been a surge against HFCS by some consumers who believe that its causing people to gain weight at a faster rate than they would if they were to simply consume sugar goods. This is both illogical and incorrect, as HFCS is not only calorifically equivalent to sugar, but is also very nearly chemically equivalent.
